Character History

She'd been neglected long enough to find that her family wasn't the place to return to, to be with. When Karina was just a small baby, her parents didn't want her. Though her mum and dad were both witch and wizard, they were also looking toward a life with a son, not a daughter, and weren't very pleased with the nurse delivered the news. However they did what they could - they still loved Kara, but they weren't as fussy as most parents were with their children; badgering them about coming down for dinner, waking them up appropriately, giving them curfews...in fact they let the girl run wild, not caring.

To many of the children from the ages of five to ten, this might seem like an excellent oppertunity to try literally evyerhing. To others, maybe, it seemed a bit sad and mentally abusive. To Kara, it had always been the latter. She'd loved the freedom of course, cherished it almost, but she wished that her parents would just pay attention to her more. They fed her, they played with her, but sometimes they acted as if she didn't exist. Sometimes. But most of the time they were pretty much normal.

Before Kara had discovered her "magical powers", she'd try various of ways for her mum and dad to pay attention. The most memoriable one was the time when she had first realized that she was a witch; it was storming in London, and she'd been trying to climb a tree. Kara had wanted to get in trouble - at least that way her parents would do something. But she was six at that time, and she didn't know about the thunderstorms, lightning, and what trees can do. So she climbed higher, until there was a zapping sound...the tree had literally exploded. However Kara remained unhurt and her plan had worked. Her parents were furious of course despite their disappointment of her gender, but their daughter had gotten what she'd wanted.

Character Personality

Kara is basically very...indepedent. She doesn't like being taken care of, maybe a trait or habit she'd inherited from the neglectance of her parents for so long. However she does love having friends and people being close to her. Kara also hates being sentimental, or sentimental people. She welcomes happy emotions, anger and such, but not mushy gushiness. Actual love had always been a subject of discomfort for this young witch, and she had often ignored it.

Despite all of these drawbacks, Kara herself is actually a friendly person. She's very open, outgoing, and energetic. Sometimes she may be stoic, quiet, and mysterious, as if she'd always retreat to the back of her brain. Of course this was often the place where she went to; it was the only place where she didn't feel lonely, and the only place where Kara could truly collect her thoughts and think coherently.

Kara's stubborn in a lot of ways; she's also extremely determined and protective of her friends and family members. Though she doesn't show it, she really cares for them. Maybe she isn't the huggy type of person, or even if the shoulder-to-cry-on kind, but she still offers good advice, verbally, not physically. She loves reading books, loves discovering new things. Her dominent trait would have to be her curiosity and because of that, she may seem annoying or irritating to some people, especially those older than her. Even so, Kara knows her right and wrong, and due to that, she believes the "faeries" are harmless, friendly beings.

Character Appearance



In her stubborn, refusal pose, Kara has brunette hair and dark chocolate brown eyes. She's tall for her age, around 5'5 or so, and skinny or just average. Her hair comes down usually to the small of her back but usually Kara parts it in three ways. Rarely does she put her hair up and if she did, it'd always be in a messy kind of ponytail. She doesn't care for her appearance or her clothing style after all. Not very a fashion - conscious person. As long as she could move around freely or wore clothing that had no drawbacks (such as just a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers or her normal Hogwarts robes), she was fine.
